Don't let the delicate French name fool you, this is a bold, herbal flavored cocktail that will make that spontaneous purchase of green Chartreuse worth the investment.
Often referred to as "bombastically herbaceous" you may want to go heavy on the gin and light on the green Chartreuse if you like your cocktails on the dry side. But we prefer to blow out the flavor in this delicately hued drink and experience the full herbal aroma.
If you haven't yet splurged on the pricey bottle of green Chartreuse, a French liquor made by Carthusian monks, we highly recommend that you put this bottle on your "stock the bar list." In the meantime, Small Screen Network has a Bijou cocktail recipe called "The Ritz" which substitutes orange Curacao for green Chartreuse.
